Mission

The mission of EWB-Caltech is to design and implement sustainable engineering projects that address pressing needs within underprivileged communities. The club aims to utilize the engineering and technical talents of Caltech students and faculty in order to help aid communities in gaining access to basic human needs such as clean drinking water, reliable access to markets, and sanitation facilities.

Current Project
Currently the club is working in partnership with the non-governmental organization Namsaling Community Development Center (NCDC) in Ilam District, Nepal on a spring water source project. The mission of the NCDC and EWB-Caltech partnership is to work together to establish a spring water source protection system that will help provide clean water for about 300 households in the surrounding regions of the Ilam District.

More than just an engineering project

Our program, in line with the overall Engineers Without Borders-USA mission, is to provide a sustainable and lasting program beyond our engineering guidance - this includes maintenance, monitoring, education, and direct community interaction.
