Opportunities for Caltech Students

Caltech students, both undergraduate and graduate, have many opportunities to help EWB-Caltech. We currently have spots for you in our two main general membership groups: the Fundraising Committee and the Technical Design Committee, both of which are extremely important to our operation.

The Fundraising Committee:
We need people to help out with gathering financial support! This entails reaching out to organizations, e.g. Rotary Clubs, corporations, and grants, publicizing EWB-Caltech and our motives, and appealing for their support. A continual stream of this is needed for us to be able to travel, assess, implement, and monitor our programs on a timely schedule. The Fundraising Committee is the busier group currently, since we are still in the preliminary stages of project design and logistics.

The Technical Design Committee:
We need a good team for the technical and logistical aspects of our program and project designs - we are building a facilities that an entire community will use for years, after all. The Technical Design Committee has been formed to specifically focus on this. It would be a bonus if you have some knowledge or experience in hydrological systems and engineering, but any help from you would be great. Our designs will be mentored by our professional engineering mentor team to ensure that we will have a working, practical, and sustainable implementation in the end.

If you are interested as a student in participating in either (or both) of these, or just working with EWB-Caltech in general, please don't hesitate to contact us! Don't forget to subscribe to the mailing list to know when our meetings are and get regular updates on our activities. The news page on this website also has useful information.

Opportunities for Engineers

We can always use a little more technical support to better ensure a quality design and implementation of our spring source protection project. We are in our preliminary design stages for now, creating a more conceptual design for this year's project. Once we complete our assessment trip, we will have good data to work with and put into our design to turn into an implementation. In the meantime, however, we still require technical and construction advice from qualified engineers.

If you have any professional experience in water supply systems engineering or anything similar (see the EWB-USA 504 form for more information on recommended qualifications), it would be great if you could get in touch with us.

Opportunities for Supporters and Donors

The membership of EWB-Caltech is currently searching for and setting up a variety of avenues of fundraising and other support connecting to the general public, reaching out to you.

We would greatly appreciate donations of any amount. Check out the Donations page if you would like to help us out in that regard.

Even if you yourself can't donate, if you have any opportunities that you think we might be able to take advantage of, please tell us. Spread the word about EWB-Caltech too! Like our official Facebook page, talk to people about supporting us, etc.
